The Gamma Zeta chapter of Delta Gamma at Louisiana State University seeks to bring each member a unique and memorable experience.
This week, Gamma Zeta women were asked what their favorite Delta Gamma memory was. From finding a second family, to impromptu dance parties in the sorority house, members have certainly made lifelong memories through their decision to go DG.
“My favorite DG memory was when my roommate, Alayna Tate, and I had an impromptu dance party in our room. We both had a rough day, but still had homework due that night and needed to be productive. To cheer ourselves up, we alternated playing our favorite songs and ended our party with a song from ‘Tangled.’ We jumped around, swing dancing, until we laughed so hard that our stomachs hurt and we couldn't stand up straight. The whole night started because both of us hated the idea of finishing our homework, but it turned into one of the best nights of my year, and it was all thanks to DG!”-Madi Ogra, MC ’19
“One of my favorite DG memories is going on a sailor sis date with my big! She said we were just going to get dessert, so I thought that meant Sonic or something, but after 20 minutes in the car we ended up getting pizookies! I was super nervous to meet someone new, but she was so welcoming and fun! We instantly clicked and have grown so close because of DG! She is one of my best friends that I tell everything to, and I can’t imagine college without her!”-Anne Nelson, MC ’20
Delta Gamma provides each member with a strong sisterhood. Through Delta Gamma membership, collegiate women will find sisters who will always be there for them.
“It's so hard to name one favorite memory, but if I had to choose it would be meeting my best friend Addie. It was maybe our second or third week in DG and we were headed into a sailor sis date night. I was standing alone and this girl in front of me turned around and said, "I like your shirt." I brushed it off with a, "Thank you! I like yours too." When she turned around fully I realized we were wearing the same B-Unlimited generic Delta Gamma shirt and the rest is history. Although it's a short memory, it would definitely be my favorite.”-Emily Trollinger, MC ’21
“My favorite DG memory is when I ran home to Delta Gamma on Bid Day! It was the best day because not only did I run home to all of my new sisters and friends, but I ran home and saw my mom, who was also a Delta Gamma when she was in college! It was a very special day and a very special sorority!”-Lindsey Lanehart, MC ’21
Gamma Zeta is a sisterhood that provides lasting memories not just through college - but through life.
