Sara Morgan

Meet Sara!

President

I chose DG because, from the moment I stepped through the doors of Delta Gamma during recruitment, it felt like such a relief and a breath of fresh air. I immediately felt the comfort and peace of knowing I could be my authentic self and would always be uplifted and supported by the women around me. The last (almost) three years of being in Delta Gamma have been the most inspiring, heartwarming, spontaneous, and joy-filled years of my life. College is such a transitional time of your life, and finding the people who make college feel like a home away from home is the biggest blessing.

What's your major?

Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in Communication Studies, Sociology, and Social Work!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

If I could live anywhere, I would choose Madrid, Spain. I did an exchange study abroad program during my freshman year of high school, during which I got to live with a family and go to school in Madrid for two weeks. I wasn't ready to go home after immersing myself in the culture and meeting so many incredible people. This past summer, I went back and stayed with the same girl I lived with almost 5 years ago (and is now one of my best friends) and frolicked around the city for 10 days. I would absolutely live there if all of my friends and family came with me!

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to continue as an assistant wedding coordinator after graduation and completing my undergrad! I’ve been an assistant wedding coordinator since I was 16 because my mom’s best friend has her own wedding coordinating business based in Baton Rouge, so it’s been an incredible way for me to get involved in the wedding industry from such a young age. It’s so magical to be part of the most special day of someone’s life, and the people working in the industry are so full of positivity and love!

What's your favorite television show/series?

Gilmore Girls!

Favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge?

Carrabba’s Italian Grill

What's your favorite DG event?

I honestly love our weekly chapter meetings when we all come together and be updated about what’s happening in our community. It’s also so nice to have a designated day during the week for all of us to get together and see what our sisters have planned through their positions. :)

Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

The best advice I have for a PNM going through recruitment is to pay attention to how the conversations and women in each house made you feel. The week can be long and tiring but also insightful and exciting, and it’s important to reflect on your experience and see where you feel you can relax, take a deep breath, and truly feel heard and seen by the women in that sorority.

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

Authentic. From my very first moments spent in Delta Gamma during recruitment to now, every interaction I have with my sisters is sincere and genuine, and every woman is authentically herself. It is so beautiful to see the unique and beautiful individualities that each member brings to our chapter, and every woman’s authenticity shines through in all that they do. It is the greatest blessing of my life to witness the bonds and connections we have with one another and see how my sisters impact the lives around them and our community.
