Letter from the President

Hello!

Welcome to Gamma Zeta’s chapter website! My name is Maggie Schatz, and I have the pleasure of serving as Delta Gamma’s 2024 chapter president! I was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana where I graduated from Mandeville High School. I decided to come to LSU to stay relatively close to home and still enjoy the rich Louisiana culture! Alongside leading our chapter, I am a Junior studying Psychology with the hopes of attending Occupational Therapy School.

I remember the excitement that consumed me on the day of my move in. I hung all of my recruitment outfits in my small dorm wardrobe and patiently waited for the first day. The summer leading up to that Fall, I received a small notebook from the Panhellenic Council to take notes during recruitment week. I scribbled down short bullet points after each party, but ultimately felt lost…until I attended my last house of the day, Delta Gamma. After speaking with these women, I ran to my notebook and wrote one word, ‘home.’ That’s what Delta Gamma became for me.

Delta Gamma is truly my home away from home. Our beautiful chapter facility is located on the LSU Lakes and filled with a community of sisters that come together in their love for serving their community and each other. I am so fortunate to lead a group of women that work hard to live out our Delta Gamma motto, “Do Good,” each and every day. The sense of passion for serving others is infectious throughout the chapter. Delta Gamma has provided countless opportunities to form lifelong memories through service, community events, and quality time together with our sisters. From cheering on our Tigers in Death Valley to study nights in the house, I will always treasure the memories and friendships that Gamma Zeta has given me. Geaux DG and Geaux Tigers!
